The ATF Wanted to Ban Armor Piercing Ammunition. Guess Who Demanded They Stop?

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was forced in 2015 to back down from a proposed ban on manufacturing and selling one of the most popular bullets used in AR-15 semiautomatic rifles. The NRA organized an attack on the ATF via social media and blanketing the Federal Register with comments that halted common sense reforms.  The icing on the top of the NRA's dangerous cake was a letter co-signed by Peter Roskam, questioning the ATF and demanding the proposed rule be stopped.
